Birthday parties

This weekend, myself and a couple of the other girls in the family were invited to a surprise birthday party to celebrate my grandmothers 70th. For a 70th, it was rather fun-filled and exciting - Not what you would expect from a 70th birthday party. The event was held at the bottom floor of Adamo - a hotel/restaurant/bar/club (what a mouthful!). When you enter into the foyer, you see a large set of stairs in front of you but if you walk round, there is a sneaky set of concrete stairs that lead down into the basement where you find a whole selection of rooms that are decked with all the apparatus to have a good time. I tried to take photo's of the place but it was just too dark and they didn't come out. But I managed to sneak a few photo's from friends.

This is a picture of my grandfather who unfortunately passed in the 1980's. There was a large selection of photographs projected on a screen for her to see when she entered the room.
  She was very much surprised after we had all told her that we couldn't make it due to our busy schedules.
 
This photograph is one of myself (on the right) and my second cousin. This photo doesn't quite give it justice, but we look very similar. I am sad to see that my tan did not reflect in this photograph after a week of sitting out in the sun, but that's the disadvantage of using a flash.

Like I said, I didn't get many photo's and had just used a compact camera rather than hauling my DSLR. But overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Afterwards, we headed back to a friends house for after drinks and then off to bed.
